Rowsley and Matlock: July walk with the camera

Twelve Months – Twelve Dates – Twelve Locations
July 29th – Rowsley and Matlock by ‘Track and Trail’

Time 10.30am-4.30pm
Cost £3.00 (additional charge of £7.50 adults/£6.00 concessions for train)

I have been particularly looking forward to this month’s walk with the camera, as we will also be enjoying the Derbyshire countryside by steam train courtesy of Peak Rail.

Our day will start and finish in Rowsley, beginning on ‘the tracks’, as we climb aboard the train to enjoy the sights and sounds of a 20 minute journey by rail to Matlock.  On reaching our destination we will have plenty of time to explore, before our return trip back to the village of Rowsley. Competition results: Farming life in Derbyshire

Congratulations to the winners and runners-up in our farming Life in Derbyshire competition, run in conjunction with the Derbyshire County Show.

We asked you to show us your best pictures from the past 12 months depicting what farming in Derbyshire means to you – and what a great response!

Thank you and well done to everyone who took the time to enter – it was great to see such a fantastic range of images and interpretations of the theme!

Take a look at the winning entries and also take a look at some of the images visitors to the show brought along to us on the day to illustrate what they enjoyed most about the event.

The winning image in the adult category is George’s On A Bear Hunt © Martin Hollingworth
