Shardlow: May walk with the camera

Twelve Months – Twelve Dates – Twelve Locations
May 20th – Shardlow

Time 10am – 4pm (tbc)
Cost Members only (£5.00 tbc) refreshments at own expense

I am delighted to be making a welcome return visit to Shardlow, as part of this series of walks with the camera. The first time round for Ockbrook was in May 2009, and what a great day we had. Whilst I can’t promise the same hot weather, hopefully we will still be taking to the water again, as this month’s walk will also include a canal cruise with Colin.

What better way to see this picturesque village, than from a narrowboat (not as illustrated above) particularly as water has played such a pivotal role in the history of Shardlow, from river to canal. A simple yet unforgettable experience, which I can guarantee you will thoroughly enjoy!

During the 18th century Shardlow was a busy working port, but whether the attraction today is the waterways past or present, this village still manages to retain its rural charm, together with a sense of community spirit.

This walk is open to Ockbrook members only and there will be a maximum of 15 places available. So register today as we embark on yet another adventure with our cameras. As usual, please complete the booking form below, although this does not guarantee you a place. Confirmation and further details will be sent out nearer the date.

See you soon. Valerie.
