Twelve Months – Twelve Dates – Twelve Locations
August 19th – Lathkill Dale
Time 10.30am-3.30pm (approx finish)
Cost £5.00 members £8.00 non-members (under 16s are to be accompanied by an adult on this walk for all)
Lathkill Dale is one of the prettiest limestone dales in the Peak District, and although evidence still remains of lead mining, nature has finally taken over, restoring the Dale to an area of outstanding beauty.
As we follow the riverside path on this very picturesque walk, look out for trout, which although a perfect environment for the fish, they may be scarce, as the river can dry out in parts during the summer months. However, the stretch of water we will be following should be at it’s best, due to this year’s excessive rainfall. This walk is definitely for the nature lover with wildlife in abundance, and for those of you who want to be creative there will be plenty of opportunities to practice those water shots as we pass several weirs on our route.
As we leave the river valley and head up into Over Haddon for refreshments, we will take time to look back, the views are outstanding. A perfect end to our day.
This is a ‘walk for all’ open to both members and non members, with a maximum of 14 places available. Please complete the booking form below to register your interest, although this does not guarantee you a place. Confirmation and further details will be sent out nearer the date.
