Following on from Mick’s most enjoyable photo walk around Melbourne Pool on Thursday evening, I wonder if any Ockbrook members are free next Sunday 28th August and fancy joining me on a Walk With the Camera around Ashbourne?
We will meet for coffee at the Tissington Trail Cycle Hire car park Mappleton Lane Ashbourne DE6 2AA between 10.30/10.45am (please note charges do apply for parking in the car park which also gets busy, so you may wish to allow yourself time to find alternative free parking in the area before meeting).
After spending some time photographing the tunnel we will head through it into the town, and begin with a visit to the beautiful St Oswald’s Church, where we are expected with our cameras between services. It really is a most elegant church, and worthy of your time to enjoy. From then on, we’ll stroll around the historic streets of Ashbourne, stopping for a bite to eat on our route, before heading back to our cars and home in time for tea.
While I’m aware it’s a Bank Holiday and it will be busier than usual, I have chosen Ashbourne for the variety, with plenty to see and keep those cameras busy, from history and architecture to street photography and spectacular views…something to get those creative juices flowing for everyone.
In the event of inclement weather please check back on here to see if the walk is cancelled, otherwise I look forward to walking with you on the 28th. Don’t forget to charge those batteries! Valerie.
